The Big Ten Law Schools Present Series
The Big 10 Law Schools will present a series of panel discussions which will be held on Wednesdays from March 26 to May 28. This coordinated series of virtual panel discussions will examine the rule of law in the United States in 2025 after an unprecedented series of executive orders, legal interpretations and administrative actions by the Trump administration over the last several months. Distinguished panelists will present a broad range of perspectives and nuanced views on the rule of law during a period of constitutional, legal, and governmental recalibration.
We can’t wait to see you at these events and more throughout the semester. Keep an eye on these emails for updates on events, resources, and opportunities. Feel free to reach out anytime with any questions, concerns, or song recommendations .
On behalf of the Wilson Sonsini Law School Recruiting team, we’re excited to share the details of our Accelerated Consideration for Employment (ACE) program, which we launched to students this week.
About the ACE Program and Key Dates
The ACE program is designed for students who have done their research and are certain they want to join our 2026 Summer Program. It allows these candidates to begin the application process earlier than the traditional OCI timeline. During the ACE application period, students are encouraged to apply to their top choice of practice group and office location.
Applications are now open, and we are reviewing them and conducting screening interviews on a rolling basis. We encourage students to apply through ACE when they have a clear sense of where they want to be and what they want to do. We understand the market is constantly evolving, and we’re here to support your students in achieving their goals on their timeline.
Key Dates and Information:
Application Opening: Wednesday, March 26
Application Deadline: Saturday, May 17
Application Reviews: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Screening Interviews: We hold screening interviews on a rolling basis culminating in a traditional interview week beginning May 27.
We recognize that the ACE program is not for everyone, and some students may need more time to complete their studies, research firms, and determine where to focus their job search. For those students, our general 2L Summer job application will open on Sunday, May 18, and remain open throughout the recruiting season, alongside all our traditional recruiting activities.
Cooley
As part of Cooley’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, we are proud to offer diversity fellowships to outstanding second-year law school students. Award recipients will receive a paid 2L summer associate position and an award of up to $40,000 to assist with law school tuition.
The award will be paid in two installments:
A $20,000 payment if you spend at least eight weeks with the firm during the 2026 summer program and receive and accept an offer of full-time employment with Cooley.
A $20,000 final payment upon joining the firm as a full-time associate, to be included in your first paycheck.
Find more information and information on how to apply HERE!
Goodwin Goodwin Law has launched their Ready, Set, GOODWIN! direct application program, which allows rising 2L law students (JD 2027) to apply directly to their 2026 Summer Program. 2026 Summer Associate candidates will be hired into either our Business Law or Litigation departments and earn a competitive weekly salary of $4,326.92 for the 10-week program.
Over 90% of Goodwin's summer associates accept offers of full-time employment, with practice focus areas in the life sciences, technology, real estate, finance and private equity, complex litigation and dispute resolution, and intellectual property litigation.
You can find more information and the application HERE!
Sheppard Mullin
Our SMART (Sheppard Mullin Accelerated Recruiting Timeline) process officially opened Tuesday, April 1. We do not currently plan to participate in OCI this year so direct application through SMART is the most effective way to be considered for a 2026 summer position with Sheppard Mullin.
See the flyer attached to this email for more information!
We hope you all have an amazing week! You've got this!

EXCITING COURSE BEING OFFERED THIS FALL 2025:
Professor John Ward will be offering the course "The Courts and The LGBT Movement: A Critical Assessment" this coming fall. The course will be co-taught by Chris Attorney, a senior attorney at GLAD LAW. Chris is is part of the team of GLAD LAW lawyers who are resisting the current torrent of anti-queer legislation and executive orders, many of which are aimed with particular cruelty at LGBTQ kids. He is lead counsel in a sports participation case involving two transgender girls in New Hampshire and has recently amended the complaint in federal court to name several federal officials, including Donald Trump. This is an exciting course, and you can find the course description HERE!
