ALL: NEW SNOW CLOSURE. Boston University’s Charles River, Fenway, and Medical Campuses will close starting at 12PM Sunday, January 25 and will remain closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, with limited services being offered. All administrative and academic activities after 12PM Sunday are canceled. You will not be able to swipe into the Law Building during this period. NOTE: Employees in essential services roles will still report to work, so make sure to say a big thanks to our facilities team when we're back on Tuesday!

ALL: UPDATED BU Alerts. Did you get the notification about the snow closure? If not, you may need to update your contact information with BU Alert, as that is how BU will communicate weather closures and other emergency information.

ALL: UPDATED Library Hours. In light of the planned closure of campus beginning at noon tomorrow, the law libraries will only be open tomorrow, Sunday, January 25, from 9am - NOON.

ALL: UPDATED - STAY WARM AND SAFE THIS WEEKEND! Mayor Wu has declared a snow emergy and parking ban in the City of Boston, beginning Sunday at noon. Mayor Wu has also declared a cold emergency in the City of Boston for Friday, January 23, through Sunday, January 25, due to the expected extreme cold weather. Boston is forecasted to experience wind chills reaching as low as -10 degrees Friday night into Saturday, and snowfall totals of 1-2 feet from Sunday into Monday. Click here for more resources on what to do in case of an emergency and how to stay warm and safe.

1Ls & 2Ls: 2026 Health Law Summer Fellowships. The Boston University School of Law Health Law Program will provide summer funding of up to $6,000.00 for up to four students, either 1Ls or 2Ls, who accept an unpaid summer internship position in Health Law with a non-profit, public interest, or government organization for the summer of 2026. You need not have accepted a position already to apply. You can apply here. To be considered for this funding, please submit the following by February 13, 2026:

  2. Offer letter or email (if you have already accepted a position or have an offer);
  3. Response of 250-500 words to the following prompt:  "Please describe any past experience working on or studying health law and/or policy, and please share how you plan to work on such issues in your future legal career."

Please contact Laura Stephens, lls@bu.edu, if you have any questions.

Letters are provided on a rolling basis.

1Ls & 2Ls: UPDATED Opportunities Fair next Friday, 12-2 pm. What is an opportunities fair? BU Law has so many great options that it can be overwhelming! The Opportunities Fair gives you a chance to see the big picture across curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. You will be able to chat with program leaders and/or students who are involved in these opportunities, so you can track deadlines and set your priorities for further exploration. We understand some students are concerned with conflicts between class time and the fair time. Students are encouraged to come and go based on your schedule. We believe that those getting out of class at 1:20 pm on Friday will have enoough time to visit the tables at the fair before 2:00 pm, and we will provide some written materials to refer to after the event. Questions? Please reach out to Student Affairs and we'll direct you.

ALL: Faculty in the Media. Your faculty are staying busy outside the classroom. Here are some highlights since Intersession:
