Welcome Quincy Gilbert, the Newest Member of Student Affairs!
Quincy (KWIN-see), he/him, is our new Assistant Director of Student Engagement. He embarked on his higher education journey further up the Charles River at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he served as the Staff Assistant in the Office of Student Services. Before his time at Harvard, he dedicated his efforts to the membership department of two YMCA associations in his home state of Rhode Island. His most significant role was as the Membership/Welcome Center Director at the Cranston YMCA. Regardless of his workplace, Quincy maintains a consistent approach to his colleagues and those he serves. He values their input and encourages open communication, while approaching situations with kindness, warmth, and empathy. This philosophy stems from his background in animal husbandry and his experience working with various animal species. Quincy holds an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from the Community College of Rhode Island. He further pursued his education by earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Animal Management from the University of Rhode Island. Most recently, he graduated from the Harvard Extension School with a Master’s of Liberal Arts in Management. Quincy firmly believes that the totality of his educational journey has cultivated a more compassionate and well-rounded individual, making him a valuable member of the community. Outside of his time at BU Law, Quincy enjoys exploring nature, embarking on adventures to local towns, spending quality time with his Siamese Cat, Poseidon, or delving into various topics such as historical events, conservation efforts, video games, and the animal kingdom.
