ALL: Campus Safety Resources. We have heard from students this week that they would like more information about what to do in case of an emergency on campus. Please review the information and resources available through BU's team on Safety, Security & Preparedness. It covers a wide variety of emergency situations and offers guidance for preparation on and off campus.
ALL: Excused Absences. Students who wish to be excused from class due to illness or to observe a religious holiday should notify your instructor in advance of your absence (when possible) and copy our office (lawreg@bu.edu). Your instructor will authorize Law Academic Media Services to provide recordings (where permitted), if they are not already available.
2Ls and 3Ls: Represent the Student Voice on a Faculty Committee. The JD Curriculum and the Community and Inclusion faculty committees are looking for student representatives! If you are interested in fulfilling this role, please reach out to Student Affairs (studaff@bu.edu) by Friday, September 26 at noon.
JD Committee. The JD Committee reviews all course proposals and any matter/proposals that relate to the JD curriculum. They are seeking one 2L and one 3L. This role involves a one hour meeting every other week (or sometimes every week, depending on how busy), plus review of materials where needed.
Community and Inclusion Committee. This committee works to promote the creation of an inclusive and just community at BU Law where all can grow. The Committee collaborates to support members of the BU Law community members as we work to enrich the quality of research, teaching, and programming to advance the mission of the institution while strengthening social connections and improving conditions for all members of the institution. They are seeking 2 JD students and 1 LLM student.
2Ls: Final Reminder: Stone Moot Court Application Deadline is Coming Up! The Edward C. Stone Moot Court Competition is open to all second-year JD students, and runs from late September through mid-November. Students work in teams of two on one of three moot court problems. The Stone participants with the highest combined brief and oral argument scores are invited to participate in the second semester Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition. Participation in Stone Moot Court as a 2L is a pre-requisite to applying for most of BU Law's 3L traveling moot court competition teams. 2Ls & 3Ls: Final Reminder: November MPRE Registration Deadline is September 25, 2025. The Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is a two-hour, 60-question multiple-choice examination that is administered three times per year. Students are encouraged to complete the exam between 2L spring and 3L fall. The deadline to register for the November 13-14, 2025 MPRE administration is September 25, 2025. 2Ls & 3Ls: Seeking and Securing Accommodations for the Bar Exam and the MPRE. Join the National Disabled Law Students Assocation, National Disabled Legal Professionals Association, and Brown Goldstein & Levy for a webinar on Seeking and Securing Accommodations for the Bar Exam. Recent test-takers and experienced attorneys will discuss common, and distinct, factors in state accommodation processes while also addressing applicant's rights, state law examiners' responsibilities, and best practices for your accommodation and appeal requests. ALL: AccessLex One-on-One Financial Coaching. Have a question about your loans, budgeting, managing your credit, bar expenses, public service loan forgiveness, or other money topics?
