Welcome back! We've moved! You can now find Student Affairs in Room 401. Academic Enrichment is in Room 510, along with Advocacy Programs (moot court and more). The Law Student Social Lounge is now located in Room 405 and a new Law Student Study Lounge is in Room 406. Journals are on the 17th Floor. The Law Cafe is now a convenience market with self-checkout. Lemarc, our long time cafe leader, is still working on campus - you can see him at Einstein's for now.
ALL: As a reminder, all law students have access to printing on campus via MyPrint. The law school printers are located on the third floor of the Law Libraries. For more information and instructions on configuring your printing access, review IS&T’s guidance here.
ALL: Library Hours. This weekend (Saturday, August 30-Monday, September 1), the library will be open 10 AM to 6 PM. On Tuesday, September 2, regular hours will resume. Regular hours will be Monday-Friday, 8 am to 10 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM to 9 PM.

1Ls: Fall 1L Weekly Workshops. This series of weekly workshops, taught by Academic Enrichment faculty and student fellows, provides opportunity to review, practice, and assess critical law school skills, including case reading and briefing, class engagement, time management, effective use of study aids and study groups, outlining, approaches to essay and multiple-choice exams, and exam preparation. Classes are interactive and, where appropriate, tailored for your section. Students are highly encouraged to attend their own section’s workshop, but please reach out to Professor Freudenheim if you need to do a makeup class with another section. We look forward to learning and working together this fall!
ALL: Applications are open for the MAC Cup, a national negotiation competition sponsored by the ABA’s Business Law Division. Open to all JD students; apply as a two-person team by September 26th. Early rounds remote; final rounds in January in Laguna Beach, CA (expenses paid). For feedback on your application drafts, feel free to send them to Stephanie Paré Sullivan, Acting Director of our Transactional Law Program (sps16@bu.edu), before September 19. 2Ls & 3Ls: Looking to Access Course Syllabi? Ask Faculty Services! Students are welcome to request syllabi from any LAW course during the add/drop period. To receive course syllabi, please email Faculty Services at facserv@bu.edu with the name(s) and number(s) (LAWJD ###) of the course(s) that you want to consider during add/drop.
ALL: Fair Labor Association's (FLA) Student Committee for 2025-26. The FLA is a human rights MSI that Boston University is a member of through the Trademark Licensing Office. Its goals are to ensure that all collegiate-branded merchandise is made and embellished in ethical and safe factories. They are seeking student applicants who are passionate about labor rights, ethical supply chains, and social responsibility. The application details can be found here. ALL: American Inns of Court - Boston Chapter Kick-Off Meeting. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Boston Chapter of the American Inns of Court, at BULS. We will be hosting our kick-off meeting in Barristers Hall on September 16, at 5:30pm, followed by dinner and a presentation by Team One. We would like to open any available seats to students and faculty on a first-come, first-served basis. ALL: BU MADE Project Training in Collaboration with HOME. As part of the MADE project, law students help tenants exercise their rights in the face of eviction while learning the basics of landlord/tenant law, how to counsel clients, and how to create pleadings. If you are interested in being a MADE volunteer, you must attend one of the mandatory training sessions on Thursday, September 4, at 12:45pm or Tuesday, September 9, at 12:45pm. If you cannot attend either training but still wish to be part of the MADE project, please email Angel Yi at angely@bu.edu. The training will last about 1 hour and will cover client counseling and tenant rights. Once you are trained, you can sign up to help tenants respond to their eviction case through the MADE portal. MADE interviews count for pro bono hours if you are looking to complete the Pro Bono Pledge! All law students, including 1Ls and LLMs, are encouraged to take part.
