ALL: Law Enforcement Presence Next Week. As we prepare to welcome U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor, we expect that there will be federal law enforcement agents on campus throughout the week in preparation, and a visible presence on Friday, October 24. If you have any concerns, please contact Student Affairs, studaff@bu.edu, 617-358-1800. Room 401.  

ALL: Tell Incoming Students About Your Housing. We’re inviting you to complete a quick, anonymous housing survey about your living situation and neighborhood. Your feedback—good or bad—will guide incoming students and give them a good sense of what to expect moving here! Here is the Link to the 5-min Housing Survey. The results from respondents will be used to update a housing guide for incoming students with the help of VeryApt, a startup in the real estate technology industry. 

2Ls and 3Ls: Simulated MPRE Exam Hosted by Helix Bar Review. On Friday October 31 at 11am, Bethany Pierpont, attorney and director from Helix Bar Review will host a Simulated MPRE Exam in Room 103. Donuts will be provided. Here’s how you can take part in this event:

  1. Register at here by Thursday October 30.
  2. Enroll in the Helix MPRE (for free) here no later than Thursday October 30.
  3. Show up on Friday October 31 @ 11am in Room 103 with your laptop and charging cord to complete the 2.5 hour Simulated exam within Helix MPRE.

2Ls and 3Ls: Banking and Tax LLM Final Exam Proctors Needed. The Banking and Tax LLM programs are seeking proctors for final exams, to be held December 5-19. Please email with your availability during this time frame, and we will be in touch regarding the hiring process and scheduling. Deadline to apply - November 14. 


ALL: Head of the Charles River Regatta is Happening This Weekend! Tens of thousands of rowers from across the country are in Boston competing in the annual Head of the Charles Regatta, which you’ll be able to see from our campus! Take a moment this weekend to stroll down the river, check out the vendors, eat some good food, and cheer on the rowers!

Your Wellbeing: Social, Intellectual & Occupational Resources 

Below is the continuation of the weekly series from the Student Affairs team on resources to support you across multiple dimensions of your wellbeing, including: core needs, emotional wellbeing, physical wellbeing, intellectual/occupational wellbeing, spiritual wellbeing, and social wellbeing. This week we will focus on social and intellectual/occupational resources. Look for physical wellbeing and community engagement resources next week!

  1. Academic Enrichment resources. The Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) is a supplemental service to help you manage your course work and get the most out of your experience in law school. The AEP offers students a wide range of services, including in-person group workshops for 1Ls, one-on-one academic coaching for all JDs, plus bar preparation guidance for 3Ls.  
  2. Use the Docket calendar to find engaging lectures and conferences hosted by BU Law, CDO events, innumerable student organization events and more!
  3. Bar Association Memberships. BU Law has renewed your membership to the American Bar AssociationBoston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Assocation. They offer great programs, networking and instructional workshops.    
  4. Graduate student writing support (and more) is available through BU's Educational Resource Center.

  2. Take a break with the arts! Find free and reduced cost options to attend museums and shows via the BU Arts Initiative.  
  3. Back for Fall 2025: Stress ReLeaf: Working with Tea for Calm & Focus. Come and explore the ancient practice of gong fu cha through education and relaxation, hosted at the LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, 2nd floor, 808 Commonwealth Avenue. 
  4. Join a peer group through SHS! Student Health Services offers Group Therapy for all BU students. Find a group that best fits your current needs or consider one for next semester. 
  5. "Here's how to find your crowd and make friends in Boston" by Hanna Ali and Meagan McGinnes from WBUR. From Foodies to Gamers to Animal Lovers, this article provides recommendations for those who are looking for community beyond the Law Tower.
