Leading up to midterms, we will work through some key exam taking tips, including how to write a good law school essay exam answer: Effective legal analysis requires students to apply the law to new facts, rather than to simply recite back memorized information. This workshop will introduce versions of a core analytical framework (“IRAC” – Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion). We will also discuss creating “issue spotter outlines” and walking through strategies to promote focus, efficiency, and wellbeing in the exam setting. We will also host colleagues from IT and the Registrar’s office to talk about important exam-taking details at the law school.
