BU Law Run Club is committed to enhancing the well-being of law students by offering dedicated space for physical activity and community building. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where students can engage in running as a healthy, stress-relieving practice. We strive to cultivate a lasting network of professionals through shared experience and collaborative support, fostering relationships that endure beyond graduation. By promoting healthy habits and offering a reprieve from the demands of legal studies, we aim to empower students to develop effective strategies to maintain a balanced, fulfilling lifestyle throughout their careers.

Mission
The Client Counseling Competition focuses on the skills essential to effective client communication. Sponsored by the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association, this competition involves teams of two students each who engage in an initial consultation with a client about whom they have very limited information. Judges score each team according to nationally-based criteria, assessing students’ knowledge of the law and their ability to ask the right questions and elicit the important information. Winners proceed to competitions at the regional and national level.

As the first BU Law student organization specifically devoted to family, estate, and youth law, FEYLA offers distinct support in navigating the field and facilitates unique student discourse.

Mission
The Mock Trial program at BU Law is a student-coached trial advocacy program. Students are taught how to write and conduct direct examinations, cross examinations, opening statements, closing arguments, and motions in limine as well given an introduction to the federal rules of evidence and federal rules of civil procedure. Students use their skills to prepare and conduct fictional cases before actual practicing judges and attorneys. Negotiation skills are in great demand, and the American Bar Association sponsors a national competition to develop these skills in law students. In the law school’s intermural competition, two teams of two students each participate in a simulated negotiation session based on a hypothetical fact pattern. A panel of judges scores the teams, and winners go on to compete on regional and national levels.
