ALL: Claim Your Free Red Sox Tickets! More information at the bottom of the newsletter. 

ALL: Requesting Advances of Financial Aid. Make sure you carefully read the email sent from bulawaid@bu.edu on September 4th. The email details the process for requesting advances of financial aid for students whose funding is still in process. This applies to federal loans, private loans, and other types of aid (e.g. Americorps funding, institutional loans, etc.). If you will have a credit balance for the fall semester once your financial aid has been processed, you can submit a request using this form.  

ALL: Sports Pass. Do you still need to cancel your Sports Pass? Here’s the form to do it!  

2L/3L: MPRE Updates 

  • Registration for the November MPRE is open now through September 18th. Registration for the March MPRE is also open now through December 4th. Anyone requesting exam accommodations for the MPRE must complete the request process before registering for the MPRE. To apply for an MPRE test accommodation, please begin the paperwork with BU Disability and Access Services as soon as possible to allow for a timely submission. 
  • August scores are now available. 

ALL: RSVP required for A Book Talk with Cory Doctorow. Boston University School of Law is pleased to welcome Cory Doctorow, science fiction author of “The Bezzle,” “The Lost Cause,” and his most recent nonfiction book “The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation.” on September 24; 12:45pm – 2:00pm.

Facilities

 BU Law has some pretty great facilities! In our building, you will find:  

On the 2nd floor: 

  • Refrigerators for student use. Note: items left after midnight on a Thursday are discarded for regular cleaning.  
  • Microwaves for student use. 
  • Law Cafe, typically open M-F, 8:00 am- 2:30 pm.  
  • Free hot water – just ask at the cafe! 

On the 4th floor:

  • Room 401 (Student Lounge): Use your BU ID to enter. Access is limited to BU Law students.  
  • Microwave and refrigerator for student use. Note: items left after midnight on a Thursday are discarded for regular cleaning.  
  • A ping pong table and board games.  

In the basement: 

  • Bike storage racks and a pump 
  • Men’s and women’s restrooms with a shower in each.  

On the 5th Floor:

  • A prayer/meditation space in Room 509.   

BU Night at Fenway Park on September 27th: JD Students Claim Your Free Ticket – Limited Quantity Available

The BU community is taking over Fenway Park as the Boston Red Sox host the Tampa Bay Rays!  September 27th is the date of the historic inauguration for our new Boston University President, Melissa Gilliam, and this game will be part of the celebration for her inauguration weekend. In fact, President Gilliam will be throwing the ceremonial first pitch at the game.

BU Law Dean Angela Onwuachi-Willig wanted to give BU Law students an opportunity to take part in this celebration and we have reserved a limited number of seats to give away tickets to current BU Law JD Students!

Register for this event to reserve your bleacher seats in the BU section. Each ticket for the game also comes with a $25 concession/merchandise credit that you can use the night of the game!
