BU Law has some pretty great facilities! The facility has been awarded LEED Gold certification for its many sustainability features and recognized for its architectural significance by the Boston Preservation Alliance and the Massachusetts Historical Commission. In our building, you will find:

- On the 2nd floor next to the Café:

• Refrigerators for student use. Note: items left after midnight on Thursdays are discarded for regular cleaning.
• Microwaves for student use.
• Law Cafe, typically open M-F, 8:00 am- 2:30 pm.  
• Free hot water – just ask at the cafe! 

- Room 401 (Student Lounge): Use your BU ID to enter. Access is limited to BU Law students.

• A microwave and refrigerators for student use. Note: items left after midnight on Thursdays are discarded for regular cleaning.
• A ping pong table and board games.

- In the basement:

• Bike storage racks and a pump
• Men’s and women’s restrooms with a shower in each.

​​​​​​- A prayer/meditation space in Room 509.

- Restrooms on every floor, with single-user restrooms labeled gender inclusive on 1, M, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17. Note: BU policy affirms that each individual may choose which restroom to use. 

- There are over 1,000 lockers in the building! Lockers are located in the basement, first, second, and fourth floors.

- What should you do when you discover a facilities problem?  

• During business hours (M-F, 9-5), and for issues outside the library, please contact Student Affairs: call (617-358-1800), email (studaff@bu.edu) or stop by Suite 510. We can help determine who best to contact for the issue.
• During library hours, if the issue is in the library, please tell the staff at the Circulation Desk (2nd floor). They will help determine who to contact.
• After hours, contact the Facilities Emergency Line at 617-353-2105. 

BU Lecture Series in Literary Translation

Friday, February 23, 2024; 2:30 – 4:30 pm - Jee Leong Koh - Living The Li(f)e Of Translation In English. Jee Leong Koh is the author of Steep Tea (Carcanet), named a Best Book of the Year by UK’s Financial Times and a Finalist by Lambda Literary in the USA. His hybrid work of fiction, Snow at 5 PM: Translations of an insignificant Japanese poet, won the 2022 Singapore Literature Prize in English fiction. He was also shortlisted for the prize for The Pillow Book (Math Paper Press/Awai Books) and Connor and Seal (Sibling Rivalry). His second Carcanet book, Inspector Inspector, was published in late 2022. Koh’s work has been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Malay, Vietnamese, Russian, and Latvian. Originally from Singapore, Koh lives in New York City, where he heads the literary non-profit Singapore Unbound, the indie press Gaudy Boy, and the journal of Asian writing and art SUSPECT. No registration needed!
